Retail gasoline and diesel prices, along with heating oil futures set new record highs Friday, the Associated Press reported.

The price jumps were led by repeated records for crude oil, which closed at a record $110.33 a barrel Thursday on the New York Mercantile Exchange.

Gasoline set records for the 4th straight day, gaining 1.3 cents to a national average price $3.28 a gallon, according to the motorists group AAA and the Oil Price Information Service.

Diesel’s average, meanwhile, closed in on $4 a gallon, gaining nearly 3 cents to a record national average of $3.938 a gallon, AP said.

Heating oil futures — the closest proxy to diesel — jumped to new records on the Nymex, AP reported.
