Diesel Price Gains a Half-Cent to $3.665 a Gallon

Past Two Weeks Have Shown Increase of Less Than a Penny

The national average price for a gallon of diesel posted its second straight increase of less than a penny, according to U.S. Energy Information Administration data released Feb. 10.

Trucking’s main fuel bumped up a half-cent to $3.665, coming on the heels of a gain of just one-tenth of a cent. The two weeks prior were a 5.6-cent decline and an 11.3-cent increase.

The price for a gallon of diesel has increased 10 cents since Jan. 6 and is 44.4 cents less than at this time in 2024.

Regional Trends

Diesel’s average price rose in three of the five PADD districts, with a 5.7-cent gain in the Rocky Mountain region being the largest. The biggest dip was 1.7 cents in the East Coast, boosted by a 2.1-cent drop in the Lower Atlantic subregion.

Gasoline Update

The national average price for a gallon of gasoline climbed 4.6 cents to $3.128. That's 6.4 cents than it cost at this time in 2024.
