Diesel Price Rises 4.8¢ to $3.539 a Gallon
The U.S. average diesel price rose 4.8 cents to $3.539 per gallon, according to data from the U.S. Energy Information Administration for the week ending Nov. 25.
This increase ends a three-week streak of declines, during which prices fell by a cumulative 8.2 cents.
Year-Over-Year Comparison
Despite the week’s uptick, the national average remains 60.7 cents less per gallon than in 2023.
California has the biggest drop from a year ago, 91.7 cents a gallon, but at $4.622, the state remains the most expensive location for diesel in the country.

Regional Analysis
East Coast (PADD 1): East Coast diesel prices increased 4.1 cents to $3.593 per gallon. Subregional trends include:
• New England (PADD 1A): Prices rose 2.5 cents to $3.776 per gallon, maintaining the region’s highest subregional price. Year-over-year prices are down 67.1 cents.
• Central Atlantic (PADD 1B): Prices edged up 1.5 cents to $3.787, a modest increase compared with other regions. Prices are 68 cents lower than last year.
• Lower Atlantic (PADD 1C): Diesel prices increased 5.2 cents, the sharpest rise within the East Coast region, averaging $3.503 per gallon. Year-over-year prices are down 45.6 cents.
Midwest (PADD 2): The Midwest recorded the week’s most significant increase, with prices climbing 6.5 cents to $3.531 per gallon. This increase follows a cumulative 10.3-cent decline over the previous three weeks. Prices are now 58.4 cents lower than the same period in 2023.
Gulf Coast (PADD 3): Prices in the Gulf Coast region rose by 5 cents to $3.203 per gallon. Despite the increase, the Gulf Coast continues to have the lowest average diesel prices among all regions. Year-over-year prices are down 59 cents.

Rocky Mountain (PADD 4): The Rocky Mountain region was the only area to experience a price decline this week, falling eight-tenths of a cent to $3.450 per gallon. Prices in this region are down 75.4 cents compared with year-ago levels.
West Coast (PADD 5): West Coast prices averaged $4.177 per gallon after a 2.8-cent gain. Subregional breakdowns include:
• West Coast less California: Prices increased 4.9 cents to $3.755, 73.5 cents lower than the same week in 2023.
• California: The state recorded a slight increase of three-tenths of a cent, bringing the average to $4.662 per gallon.
Gasoline Update
The national average price for a gallon of gasoline barely changed, dipping two-tenths of a cent to $3.044. That's 19.4 cents less than it cost at this time in 2023.
