DOE Fuel Prices on Hold with Government Shutdown

The federal government in the Washington area remained closed for a fourth day Thursday following Wednesday’s blizzard and as a result the Department of Energy is not likely to release its weekly fuel prices until at least Friday.

Upwards of a foot of snow forecast to hit the region Wednesday — following the weekend snowstorm’s two-foot wallop — that left the region with its highest seasonal snowfall on record, news reprots said.

Transport Topics Online’s Arlington, Va., headquarters were closed Monday and Wednesday due to the two storms’ fallout, but are operational Thursday and will post the weekly fuel figures as soon as they become available.
