Donaldson Co. to Improve Filtration Systems Plant for 2010

Donaldson Co., a manufacturer of filtration systems, said Monday it is spending $5 million to enable one of its plants to manufacture parts that comply with the Environmental Protection Agency’s 2010 diesel emission standards.

The improvements to its Auburn, Ala., plant will also help the company to serve the aftermarket and retrofit markets after the 2010 regulations go into effect.

EPA 2010 standards mandate a reduction in emissions of particulate matter and NOx from heavy-duty diesel engines.

Donaldson Co. said that the plant improvements will also help it to produce equipment for off-road diesel vehicles when EPA standards go into effect for those vehicles in 2011.
