DTNA Opens New Headquarters Building in Portland
Daimler Trucks North America on April 19 officially opened its new headquarters building in North Portland, Oregon.
The project required a $150 million investment by DTNA. Work began in April 2014, and the 268,000-square-foot office will merge DTNA employees currently located in offices separated by the Willamette River.
The company said it expects later this year to receive LEED Platinum Certification for the building. The certification from the U.S. Green Building Council reflects efforts to be environmentally conscious through energy efficiency, water conservation, improving the indoor occupant health and other factors.
“As a leader in the industry with a reputation for high standards in engineering and sustainable practices, we felt it was important to have our headquarters campus reflect those values,” DTNA President Martin Daum said in a statement.
Daimler Trucks North America was founded by Leland James over 70 years ago as Consolidated Freightways before becoming Freightliner Corp. in Portland in 1947.
"The best team should have the best house to live in. And that's what today is all about."
