Eberspaecher North America, a supplier of vehicle heaters, has added a new engine pre-heater to its product lineup, the Hydronic S3 5-kilowatt economy system, the company said.
The device is designed for on- and off-highway heavy-duty trucks, medium-duty and vocational trucks, as well as construction equipment, buses and marine applications, the company said Aug. 23.
The California Air Resources Board, or CARB, has certified Hydronic S3 for diesel-powered commercial vehicles, Classes 3-8.
Eberspaecher said this is the third generation of its Hydronic series and that S3 has “compact dimensions and flexible installation options for simple retrofitting.”
The company said the coolant heater features an encapsulated fan motor and the separation of cold and hot components in order to increase longevity. New water spigots are fully rotatable by 360 degrees and are fully replaceable, the company said.
The Eberspaecher Group has its global headquarters in Germany, but North American operations are run out of Mississauga, Ontario. The North American company previously was known as Espar Products.
