Echo Global Logistics celebrated the re-pening of its Chicago headquarters at a ceremony with Mayor Rahm Emanuel on Nov. 14.
The 225,0000-square-foot office will hold 2,000 employees, including 500 that relocated from the old Command Transportation business that Echo Global Logistics bought in 2015.
“Chicago is the ideal city for companies like Echo to build their long-term future,” Emanuel said.
“Our expanded office space allows Echo to continue to grow organically while providing an enhanced, collaborative space to welcome our team members from Skokie,” Echo CEO Doug Waggoner said. “Both our longtime Chicago employees and former Skokie-based employees are excited about the new office’s features and look forward to sharing them with visiting clients, carrier partners and vendors.”
The bigger space, which was a 132,000-square-foot expansion, features 18-foot ceilings with views of the skyline and Chicago River. Focus rooms are set up to look like dock doors, while feature walls are lined with art to resemble custom semitrailers, the company said in a statement.
Echo Global Logistics ranks No. 35 on the Transport Topics Top 50 list of the largest North American logistics companies.
