REZ-1 Inc., the equipment leasing software business owned by chassis lessor Direct ChassisLink Inc., has acquired International Asset Systems, another transportation management provider.
The buyer didn’t disclose terms. International Asset Systems, or IAS, specializes in cloud-based management of first- and last-mile shipments for truckers, ocean carriers and other intermodal industry participants, said the statement from REZ-1, Wellesley, Massachusetts.
“IAS applications and technology standardize and streamline key processes such as transport order tendering, carrier compliance, optimization, visibility, billing, and maintenance and repair,” said Marie Colbert, president and CEO of REZ-1. “This powerful combination of technology and network enables us to expand our offerings and better serve our customers.”
Direct ChassisLink, or DCLI, offers 130,000 pieces of intermodal equipment for lease. “Bringing IAS and REZ-1 together under the DCLI umbrella advances our strategy of combining assets with related services and technology,” said Bill Shea, CEO at DCLI. “This acquisition broadens and deepens how we can serve existing and future customers in several dimensions — by market segment, business need and geography.”
