Evans Distribution Systems Adds Facilities

Evans Distribution Systems, a third-party logistics operator, is adding new facilities in Lenexa, Kan., Houston and Memphis, Tenn.

Evans said the expansions are part of an effort to use its expertise in automotive supply chain services to work with other logistics providers outside of its Melvindale, Mich., headquarters area.

The company is expanding operations in Kansas and Texas in collaboration with a nationwide trucking company that

Evans didn’t identify. These facilities will manage automotive-related business.

In Memphis, Evans is working to provide switching and yard management services in conjunction with another logistics provider, also to support an automotive company.

Evans said it operates a total of 1.8 million square feet of warehouse space in its home state of Michigan and in Virginia.
