Execs, Drivers Compete in Healthy Challenge
SAN DIEGO — Trucking executives and members of America’s Road Team said they will compete in a challenge to promote healthy habits here during American Trucking Associations’ Management Conference & Exhibition.
“The Healthy Trucker Challenge is a tremendous way to promote healthy habits and wellness in our industry,” said ATA Chairman Philip Byrd Sr., who is president of Bulldog Hiway Express.
The challenge will track the steps of Byrd, incoming chairman Duane Long of Longistics, Pat Thomas of UPS Inc., Kevin Burch of Jet Express and Dave Manning of Tennessee Express.

They will compete against Road Team Captains Don Logan of FedEx Freight, Eddie Weeks of AAA Cooper, Jeff Halford of Con-way Freight, Don Biggerstaff of ABF Freight System and Nate Wick of UPS Freight.
Daily updates will be posted in the exhibit hall, with the winning team receiving 10 FitBits.
