FedEx Expands Major Facilities in France, Mexico

FedEx Express said that it has completed expansion projects at its European hub at Paris-Charles de Gaulle Airport and a warehouse at Guadalajara International Airport in Jalisco, Mexico.

The European hub opened in 1999 and serves 300 flights per week with its 2,600 employees, FedEx said in a statement Friday.

The expanded facility is now the largest FedEx hub outside the United States, FedEx said.

FedEx estimates that the Guadalajara warehouse, which has been doubled in size, will reduce its shipment processing time by up to 40%. Its sorting capacity now stands at 4,000 packages per hour.

FedEx Corp., of which FedEx Express is a subsidiary, is ranked No. 2 on the Transport Topics 100 listing of U.S. and Canadian for-hire carriers.
