FedEx Sets 5.9% LTL Rate Hike

FedEx Corp. said Friday its less-than-truckload units will boost rates by 5.9%, effective Feb. 1.

The rate increases for its FedEx Freight and FedEx National LTL will apply to interstate and intrastate LTL shipments, as well as shipments between the U.S. and Canada.

Various additional changes will include minimum and accessorial charges and some adjustments to fuel surcharges, FedEx said.

New rate, rules tariff and fuel surcharge information will be available at www.fedex.com/us/freight/main on Feb. 1.



The company had previously set an average 4.9% rate increase its FedEx Ground unit and a 5.9% hike for its FedEx Express unit for 2010.

FedEx Corp. is ranked No. 2 on the Transport Topics 100 listing of U.S. and Canadian for-hire carriers.
