FetchDesk Launches Software to Streamline Freight Contracting

FetchDesk, a new supplier of transportation software, has launched a platform designed to streamline the freight contracting process for carriers, shippers and brokers.

The startup company said its cloud-based software enables shippers to find and “self-broker” accredited trucks while helping carriers secure backhaul freight up to eight days in advance.

The FetchDesk platform saves carriers money by eliminating broker commissions and reducing deadhead mileage, the Phoenix-based software company said, adding that it also simplifies the booking process for shippers and brokers by letting them contact carriers directly to negotiate contract terms.

“Using this software to locate qualified backhauling carriers en route to their freight’s intended destination, shippers now have a better way to book transportation,” said CEO David Dwinell, who founded the company earlier this year. “This makes the finding and contracting process for freight significantly easier and more efficient for shippers and carriers by enabling them to self-broker.”

Shippers, brokers and carriers pay a $70 annual subscription to access the software, which is available for Mac and PC and can also be used on iOS, Android and Microsoft mobile devices.

The first 1,000 carriers and first 1,000 shippers and brokers to enroll in FetchDesk will receive a free subscription for a year, the company said.
