First-Quarter GDP Unrevised at 1.9%

The U.S. economy grew at a 1.9% annual rate in the first quarter, the Commerce Department said Thursday, holding an earlier estimate.

The gross domestic product growth rate followed a 3% pace in the fourth quarter.

Household purchases rose at a 2.5% rate, from a previously reported 2.7%.

The 1.9% rate matched economists’ median forecast, Bloomberg reported.

The GDP figure was the third of three estimates released by Commerce.
