Trailer telematics specialist FleetPulse is set to become available for Canadian fleets, the company said Nov. 20.

Increased trailer optimization will allow Canadian fleets to address extreme weather conditions, long journeys between major conurbations and the logistical complexities posed by the rise in cargo traffic at the U.S.-Canada border, FleetPulse said.

The company expects its sensors to aid Canadian fleets through tire pressure monitoring, which can reduce tire wear and boost fuel efficiency; greater asset utilization; monitoring of refrigerated trailer loads; antilock braking system data in icy or snowy conditions; improved visibility through light monitoring; and real-time tracking.

“Canadian fleets have to navigate rising costs and the increasing complexities of operating their business,” FleetPulse CEO Carl-Christoph Reckers said.

“Our technology now works seamlessly on both sides of the border. With our robust portfolio of solutions, dedicated Customer Success team and tailored onboarding processes,” he added, “FleetPulse is uniquely positioned to help Canadian fleets address their specific challenges while unlocking new efficiencies and growth opportunities.”

FleetPulse was spun off from trailer manufacturer Great Dane in May. FleetPulse telematics sensors are standard on Chicago-based Great Dane trailers, but FleetPulse supports the trailers of any original equipment manufacturer.
