FMCSA Extends ELD Proposed Rule to June 26
FMCSA is extending by 30 days the public comment period for its supplemental proposed rule requiring interstate carriers to install electronic logging devices on all trucks.
The extension, from May 27 to June 26, was granted in response to a request by the Commercial Vehicle Safety Alliance, which said that due to the complexities of the rule, it needed more time to coordinate with state law enforcement officials.
Of particular concern to CVSA has been how information from the ELD to inspectors’ laptops is securely transferred.
