Forward Air Corp. will expand its expedited less-than-truckload service in Vancouver, British Columbia, the company announced July 20.

The Greeneville, Tenn., ground transportation and logistics services carrier has been executing a growth strategy that involves organic infrastructure investments, and Vancouver marks the latest step in that plan.

“Opening Vancouver allows us to improve freight-clearance procedures, which means reduced transit times for our customers,” Forward Air CEO Tom Schmitt said in a statement.

“From this facility, we can transfer through Seattle and meet our current expedited schedule servicing the lower 48 states. We are also supporting regional business with a world-class pickup-and-delivery service,” he added.

Western Canada is now connected to Forward Air’s U.S. and Canadian networks with the addition of direct expedited LTL service as well as its full portfolio of premium freight management services in LTL, full truckload, intermodal drayage and final-mile delivery.

The company has opened more than 20 facilities this year as part of its continued expansion.
