Freight Forwarder CVI Acquires M&S Shipping
CV International, a Norfolk, Virginia-based freight forwarder and customs broker, has acquired M&S Shipping Ltd., a Virginia Beach company that provides domestic and international freight-forwarding services. Terms were not disclosed.
“This was a positive development for both of our companies,” CVI President Mike Coleman said in a statement Jan. 4. “We have known and worked with M&S for a long time.”
M&S Shipping was started in 1987 as the U.S.-based subsidiary of M&S Shipping Group Ltd. in London.
M&S Shipping President Peter Simmons said the company will be able to better support customers by combining operations with CVI. M&S' staff will join CVI in Norfolk, company officials said.
CVI was founded as Coleman International in 1984 by B. Wayne Coleman.
