Gas Climbs 17¢ to $2.66 a Gallon, Lundberg Says

The national average price of regular gasoline continued to climb, gaining 17 cents in the past two weeks to $2.66 a gallon, according to the latest Lundberg Survey of filling stations released Sunday.

The price rise followed a 19-cent gain the previous two weeks and tracked rising oil prices, with oil topping $72 last week for the first time since November, Bloomberg reported.

The mid-grade average was $2.78 and premium averaged $2.90 a gallon, analyst Trilby Lundberg said in her survey, released twice a month.

The lowest regular price was in Tucson, Ariz., at $2.41 a gallon, while San Francisco had the highest price, at $2.99, Lundberg said.

The Energy Department will release its weekly diesel and gasoline price survey Monday afternoon in Washington.
