Gas Gains 8¢ in Two Weeks to $1.86, Lundberg Says
Gasoline’s national average price rose 8 cents over the two weeks ended Friday to $1.86 a gallon, according to the latest Lundberg Survey of filling stations released Sunday.
Crude oil futures rose $3.90, or 9.2%, in the past week, to $46.47 a barrel, Bloomberg reported. Oil accounts for 56% of prices at the pump, according to the U.S. Department of Energy.
OPEC plans to curb supplies by 5.4% this month to 26.15 million barrels a day, Bloomberg said, citing estimates from consulting firm PetroLogistics Ltd.
The highest price for self-serve regular gasoline was $2.37 in Anchorage, Alaska, while the lowest was in Billings, Mont., at $1.44, the survey said.
DOE comes out with its weekly survey of gasoline and diesel fuel pump prices Monday afternoon in Washington.
