Gas Prices Steady in Past Two Weeks, Lundberg Says

Gasoline prices held steady over the past two weeks at $2.66 per gallon for regular grade, according to the national Lundberg Survey of fuel prices released Sunday.

Mid-grade averaged $2.79 and premium $2.90 when the survey was conducted Friday, analyst Trilby Lundberg said in her twice-monthly survey.

The level followed 17- and 19-cent gains in the previous two-week periods, but gasoline was $1.44 below the same week last year when it approached its record high over $4 a gallon.

The lowest price was in Wichita, Kan., at $2.40 per gallon, while San Francisco had the highest, at $3.02.

The Energy Department will release its weekly diesel and gasoline price survey Monday afternoon in Washington.
