The national average price of regular gasoline fell by less than a penny over the past two weeks to $2.05 a gallon, according to the latest Lundberg Survey of filling stations released Sunday.

The price is $1.42 below the same week last year, analyst Trilby Lundberg said in her latest report, which is issued twice a month. The survey covered the two-week period through Friday.

The lowest price was in Phoenix at $1.80 a gallon, while the highest was in Anchorage, Alaska, at $2.45.

The Energy Department will release its weekly diesel and gasoline price survey Monday afternoon in Washington.
