Gasoline Falls to 11-Month Low, Lundberg Survey Reports
Gasoline dropped almost a dime in the past three weeks to $3.38 a gallon, an 11-month low, according to the latest Lundberg survey of filling stations released Sunday.
Regular grade gasoline dropped 9.6 cents for the three-week period ended Friday, analyst Trilby Lundberg reported in her twice-monthly survey released Sunday.
Midgrade averaged $3.55 and premium averaged $3.69 per gallon, the survey said.
Stations on Long Island, N.Y., had the highest price among areas surveyed, at $3.85 a gallon, down 32 cents since Nov. 18. Memphis, Tenn., had the lowest, at $3.04.
Gas has plunged almost 50 cents since mid-September, according to the Department of Energy’s weekly survey of filling stations, while diesel held over $4 a gallon in every week except two since mid-August.
DOE will release its weekly survey of diesel and gasoline pump prices Monday afternoon in Washington.
