Gasoline’s national average pump price fell 6.1 cents in the past two weeks to $3.647 a gallon, according to the latest Lundberg survey of filling stations released Sunday.
The price has declined for six weeks in a row and is about 32 cents below the same week last year, which had been the highest of 2012.
Midgrade’s average price was $3.82 a gallon and premium’s was $3.96.
Prices may continue to slide as refiners pass along lower crude oil costs, analyst Trilby Lundberg said following release of the survey, which covered the two-week period ended Friday.
Billings, Mont., had the lowest gasoline price among cities surveyed, at $3.33 a gallon, while Chicago had the highest, at $4.05.
The Department of Energy will release its weekly survey of diesel and gasoline pump prices Monday afternoon in Washington. Both fuels have declined for five consecutive weeks, according to DOE figures.
