Gasoline fell 7 cents in the past three weeks to $3.41 a gallon, according to the latest Lundberg Survey of filling stations released Sunday.
Premium grade gas fell to $3.69 and medium-grade fell to $3.57, analyst Trilby Lundberg said in her twice-monthly survey of filling stations.
Jackson, Miss., had the lowest average price for gas at $3, while Chicago was the highest at $3.78, Lundberg said.
Pump prices may have stabilized after falling steadily for three months, due to oil prices bouncing higher and the heart of the summer driving season, according to Lundberg, Reuters reported.
Crude oil futures are trading at about $86 a barrel after hitting a seven-month low in late June under $78, according to Bloomberg News.
The $3.41 price matches the Department of Energy’s survey of last week. DOE will release this week’s survey Monday afternoon in Washington.
