Gasoline’s national average price rose 9.6 cents in the past two weeks to $2.73 a gallon, according to the latest Lundberg Survey of fuel prices released Sunday.
Prior to the two-week increase, gas had declined 10.8 cents since early January, analyst Trilby Lundberg said in her twice-monthly survey.
The increase was led by rising crude oil prices, which topped $81 a barrel last week on the New York Mercantile Exchange for the first time since January.
Mid-grade averaged $2.86, while premium’s average was $2.97 a gallon, Lundberg said.
The lowest price was in Cheyenne, Wyo., at $2.47, while. Honolulu had the highest at $3.33. The survey was conducted Friday.
The Department of Energy will release its weekly survey of diesel and gasoline prices Monday afternoon in Washington.
