Gasoline jumped almost 12 cents in the past three weeks to $3.51 per gallon, according to the latest Lundberg Survey of filling stations released Sunday.

Midgrade and premium grades each rose 11 cents, to an average $3.65 and $3.77 per gallon, respectively.

Diesel’s average climbed about four cents, to $3.95 per gallon, Lundberg said.

Gas prices have spiked more than 20 cents since early December and at a faster pace than diesel prices, according to Lundberg’s records.

The most recent survey, released three weeks ago, showed a gain of 3.5 cents.

Among cities surveyed, New York’s Long Island suburbs had the highest price, at $3.82, while Denver was the lowest, at $3.01.

The Department of Energy will release its weekly survey of diesel and gasoline prices Monday afternoon in Washington.
