GlobalTranz Enterprises Inc. CEO Bob Farrell has been appointed chairman of the board, the company announced March 14. He will remain CEO.
Since being hired in March 2016, Farrell has transformed the executive team and supported several improvements in operations, resulting in a record annual profits, according to the company. But as a private firm, GlobalTranz isn’t required to report financial results to the public.
Farrell also led the recent acquisition of Global Freight Source.
“I’m honored that the board of directors has chosen me to assume the chairman role,” Farrell said. “In the past year, I have been impressed with the strength of the GlobalTranz technology platform, the commitment of our investors, the energy of our employees and the tremendous market opportunities available to us to grow the company.
“I look forward to leading GlobalTranz’s future growth, promoting logistics technology innovation and advancing our market leadership position.”
Prior to joining GlobalTranz, he was president and CEO of logistics technology provider Kewill. The Phoenix-based GlobalTranz ranks No. 12 on the Transport Topics sector list of the top freight brokers in North America.
