GM Adds Shifts at Three Plants

General Motors Co. will add a third shift to three plants as the automaker shifts production from plants that will be closed or idled, Bloomberg reported.

The increased production at plants in Fairfax, Kan.; Fort Wayne, Ind.; and Delta Township, Mich., will restore 2,400 jobs to workers who were previous laid off at the plants, Bloomberg said.

The adjustment comes as part of GM’s larger effort to scale back after its government-aided bankruptcy reorganization, Bloomberg said. The production changes will allow GM to use its plants more efficiently.
