Great Dane Becomes First Trailer Maker to Join Blockchain Group
Great Dane announced that it became the first trailer maker to join the Blockchain in Transport Alliance, which is dedicated to the development of blockchain standards for the freight industry.
BiTA will enable the company to stay up-to-date on the evolving open data standards and provide input to ensure the technology will be inclusive of the trailer and truck body segment, according to Chicago-based Great Dane.
The company envisions blockchain as eventually providing better transparency and history on trailer maintenance, repairs, parts and warranty terms.
“It is Great Dane’s mission to stay on the cutting edge of new technology and innovation,” Great Dane President Dean Engelage said in a statement.
