Heartland Express said Friday its fourth-quarter net income rose $17.1 million, or 20 cents per share, from $15.4 million, or 17 cents, a year ago.
Revenue rose 1.5% to $131.2 million, including a 30.5% jump in fuel surcharges, the truckload carrier said.
For the full year, Heartland earned $70 million, or 78 cents per share, up from $62.2 million, or 69 cents, a year ago. Revenue rose 5.8% to $528.6 million.
Heartland Express is ranked No. 45 on the Transport Topics 100 listing of U.S. and Canadian for-hire trucking companies.
