Hendrickson, a Boler company, announced it acquired the Motor Wheel brake drum and Crewson slack adjuster business segments from Stemco, which in June reported it is refocusing resources on its core wheel-end and king pin product lines.
The two business segments — based in Chattanooga, Tenn., and Berea, Ky. — will operate as a division of Hendrickson Truck Commercial Vehicle Systems. The Motor Wheel and Crewson names will be kept and used as a product name going forward, according to Itasca, Ill.-based Hendrickson.
“This acquisition will provide a platform for Hendrickson to advance our lightweight drum brake system performance and provide components that will complement our existing product portfolio,” Hendrickson CEO Gary Gerstenslager said in a release.
Terms were not disclosed. Stemco is a unit of EnPro Industries. — Transport Topics
