Speaker Paul Ryan and other Republican leaders in the House announced the formation of six task forces on Feb. 4.
The task forces, including one on reducing regulatory burdens, are charged with “developing a bold, pro-growth agenda,” according to a press release issued by Ryan’s office.
House Republicans initially announced the plan for the agenda at a January conference in Baltimore.
The task force on reducing regulatory burdens includes nine committee chairmen, notably Bill Shuster of Transportation & Infrastructure. The task force's announced goal is to “make it easier to invest, produce and build things in America with a regulatory system that reduces bureaucracy and eases the burden on small businesses and job creators, while still protecting the environment, public safety and consumer interests.”
The other task forces, which will seek input from all House Republicans, are: Health Care; National Security; Poverty, Opportunity and Upward Mobility; Restoring Constitutional Authority; and Tax Reform.
