Justin Harclerode, a longtime staffer on the House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee, was appointed the panel’s communications director, Chairman Bill Shuster (R-Pa.) announced this week.
Harclerode, who succeeds Jim Billimoria, began on Capitol Hill as an aide to former Rep. Bud Shuster (R-Pa.), Bill Shuster's father, before transitioning to the committee in 1997. He since has served under four chairmen.
An Everett, Pa., native, he earned degrees from Pennsylvania State University.
“Justin’s considerable experience with the wide range of issues before the committee will help us as we continue to build upon the good work we’ve done over the last two congresses in strengthening America’s infrastructure,” said Bill Shuster.
Billimoria, or “JB,” the committee’s communications director for more than three years, is leaving for a position at Amazon.com as a public relations manager.
“I appreciate all of JB’s work in leading the committee’s communications team and overseeing the dramatic expansion of the committee’s digital media presence, particularly as we developed and passed critical legislative efforts like the Water Resources Reform and Development Act and the FAST Act,” Shuster added.
