Houston to Get Service From Great Britain’s Cargo Airline CargoLogicAir
CargoLogicAir, Great Britain’s all-cargo airline, will begin service this month out of Bush Intercontinental Airport after a deal finalized during Mayor Sylvester Turner’s European trade mission in July.
CLA’s Boeing 747-400 freighters will arrive in Houston from Mexico City. Cargo service will then operate between Houston and Frankfurt, Germany, and Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates on Thursdays and Sundays.
“The new CargoLogicAir flights add important connectivity to further develop Houston’s international trade,” Turner said in a statement.
From January to June, Houston’s intercontinental airport handled more than 220,870 metric tons of domestic and international air cargo, a growth of 7.6% year over year, according to a statement from the mayor’s office.
The air cargo market in Houston grew in every international region, with more than 218% growth from the Mexico market, more than 7% growth from the European market and about 13% growth from the Middle East market year over year.
