Following a four-year tenure leading the Transportation Intermediaries Association, Anne Reinke has been selected as the next president and CEO of the Intermodal Association of North America.

Reinke will officially step into the role at the end of the year, succeeding Joni Casey, who is retiring after 27 years of service. IANA announced Reinke’s hiring in a Sept. 26 news release.

“IANA is a world-class organization that Joni has so ably led for 27 years. I am eager to continue the growth and success she achieved and appreciate the opportunity that the IANA Board has given me,” Reinke said in a statement. “I will be forever grateful for my time at TIA for the experience and perspective I gained as its leader.”

Reinke brings broad experience to her new role. Prior to her time at TIA, she held leadership roles at the U.S. Department of Transportation, including as deputy assistant secretary for Intergovernmental Affairs and Deputy Assistant Secretary for Congressional Affairs. Prior to that, Reinke spent 16 years with CSX Corp., where she developed expertise in transportation policy and logistics operations.

During her time at TIA Reinke expanded the group’s virtual education programs and advocacy efforts, ensuring that members remained supported during the coronavirus pandemic and throughout shifts in the industry.

“We thank Anne for her service while at TIA,” said Mark Christos, chair of the group’s board of directors. “She joined TIA in the middle of COVID, has positioned us well as membership, education and our conferences have grown.”

TIA Vice President of Government Affairs Christopher Burroughs will succeed Reinke as the group’s president and CEO at the end of November. “We are excited for Chris and the leadership he will bring. His strong background in government affairs and his deep connection to members and their needs position us well for continued success,” Christos said.

Trevor Ash, chair of IANA’s Board of Directors and CEO of CIE Manufacturing, voiced confidence for the leadership and experience Reinke brings to the group. “In looking for a new leader to advance IANA’s role as the voice of the intermodal freight transportation industry, we could not have found a more qualified individual,” Ash said.
