Commercial Vehicle Safety Alliance members elected officers at the end of their recent annual meeting in Buffalo, New York, the group said Sept. 24.
Capt. William Reese of the Idaho State Police is the new president of the alliance of U.S., Canadian and Mexican truck safety inspectors. He replaces Sgt. Thomas Fuller of the New York State Police after a standard one-year term.
Maj. Jay Thompson of the Arkansas Highway Police is CVSA’s new vice president.
Also during the Sept. 14-18 gathering, CVSA selected Jason Wing, manager of safety compliance and training for less-than-truckload carrier ABF Freight, to be president of associate members. The new vice president for associates is David Guess of tank truck carrier Usher Transport.
The alliance gave one of its President’s Awards to a trucking executive: Steve Niswander, vice president of safety policy and regulatory relations for tank truck carrier Groendyke Transport Inc.
Groendyke ranks No. 91 on the Transport Topics Top 100 list of U.S. and Canadian for-hire carriers.
