Illinois Trucking Association Launches Women’s Coalition

The Illinois Trucking Association launched a new coalition aimed at empowering women in the trucking industry.
The Women’s Coalition of the ITA (WCITA) seeks to inspire, support and lead women in the transportation industry. That includes offering support as they seek to advance their careers and a platform to network.

“It is important to instill confidence to women in the trucking industry and to help them succeed in the transportation industry whether becoming a driver, manager, director or company owner,” WCITA Chairwoman Dana Achartz said in a statement. “The knowledge, experience and passion WCITA has will lead and mentor the future women of the transportation industry.”
WCITA started as a grassroots organization that grew from a group of female ITA members to help support other women in the network grow and achieve their desired successes and careers. ITA said the coalition is for every woman in all segments of the transportation industry with different goals and aspirations.
