Import Prices Rise 1% in June

The price of goods imported to the United States rose for a fifth straight month in June, on higher fuel costs, the Labor Department reported Friday.

Prices rose 1%, following a 1.1% gain in May, Labor said. Prices excluding petroleum gained 0.2%.

Economists’ estimated import prices would rise 0.2%, Bloomberg reported.

Export prices rose 0.3% after rising 0.2% rise in May.
