Initial Jobless Claims Decline

Initial jobless claims fell last week, the Labor Department said Thursday.

Claims fell by 12,000 to 377,000 for the week ended Saturday, Labor said.

The figure was in line with economists’ forecasts, Bloomberg reported.

The four-week moving average, a less volatile measure, rose to 377,750, from 376,000.

Continuing jobless claims for the previous week ended May 26 rose by 34,000, to 3.29 million.
