Initial Jobless Claims Fall for Week

Initial jobless claims fell 6,000 last week, the second straight decline, the Labor Department said Thursday.

Claims dropped to 462,000, about in line with economists’ forecasts, Bloomberg reported.

The four-week moving average of claims, a less volatile measure, rose to 475,500 for the week ended Saturday.

Continuing jobless claims for the previous week ended Feb. 27 rose 37,000 to 4.56 million, Labor said.
