Jim Palmer Trucking Sold

Jim Palmer Trucking has been sold to a pair of Chicago businessmen who own another small trucking company, the Associated Press reported.

The sale was finalized last week, AP said Tuesday. Employees were notified of the sale Friday, and the new owners started work Monday.

The owners, Milan Kangrga and Blazo Gjorev, operate a small flatbed trucking company near Chicago, said the Missoulian, Missoula, Mont.

The company filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in July 2008 and emerged in May. The company is still waiting to be released from its obligations under Chapter 11.

The new owners told the Missoulian that they plan to expand the company's reach on the East Coast.

Jim Palmer Trucking, Missoula, Mont., currently has about 280 employees, AP said.
