Jobless Claims Fall 9,000 for Week

Initial jobless claims fell by 9,000 last week, the Labor Department said Thursday.

Claims fell to 365,000 for the week ended Saturday, below economists’ forecasts of 373,000 claims, Bloomberg reported.
 
The four-week moving average, a less volatile measure, rose to 372,250, from 367,250.
 
The number of people continuing to collect unemployment benefits was unchanged at a four-year high of 3.073 million for the previous week ended May 10.
