Kansas City Southern’s 4Q Income Declines

Kansas City Southern said its fourth-quarter profit fell 27% to $36.4 million, or 40 cents a share, from $49.9 million, or 56 cents, a year ago.

Revenue fell 8% to $424 million as carloads declined 8.4%, KCS said.

For the full year, the railroad’s annual revenue rose 6.3% to $1.85 billion, a record, while operating income gained 7.7% to $390.2 million, also a record.
