Kenan Advantage Group will acquire the assets of Reinhard Transportation, a Federal Way, Wash., fuel hauler that runs 64 trucks.
Financial terms of the deal, announced on Nov. 12, were not disclosed by either company. Besides Reinhard’s tractors, the sale includes 11 terminals located throughout Washington and Oregon, Kenan said in a statement.
Kenan said the acquisition is part of a plan to push into the northwestern United States, a region it has eyed “for a long time.”
“Reinhard gives us a solid foundation to build upon as we expand our operations into the Northwest and Canada,” said Dennis Nash, Kenan’s president.
Kenan, North Canton, Ohio, provides transportation and logistics services to the petroleum industry. The company ranks No. 42 on the Transport Topics 100 list of the largest for-hire carriers in the United States and Canada. Its largest operating subsidiary is Petro Chemical Transport, a petroleum hauler.
