Kenworth Truck Co. recently celebrated the delivery of the one millionth truck produced in its 91-year history.
The company marked the event with a ceremony Dec. 23 at its assembly plant in Chillicothe, Ohio.
The milestone truck, a T680 Advantage model with a Paccar MX-13 engine, was presented to TransAm Trucking, a refrigerated carrier based in Olathe, Kansas.
Kenworth, founded in 1923, has grown from building fewer than 100 trucks per year early in its history to more than 45,000 in 2014, its second-highest total ever, the company said.
The Kirkland, Washington-based manufacturer is part of truck and engine maker Paccar Inc., which also is the parent company of Peterbilt Motors Co.
