Knight Eliminates President Position

Truckload carrier Knight Transportation said its president, Tim Kohl, is leaving the company and his position is being eliminated, Bloomberg reported.

Kohl will leave the company Oct. 27, Knight said in a regulatory filing late Wednesday, Bloomberg said. Kohl joined Knight in 1996 and became president in January 2004.

“In connection with the company's move toward more formal operating units, the responsibilities formerly associated with the position of the president of the company have been eliminated,” Knight said in a U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission filing.

Knight Transportation is ranked No. 40 on the Transport Topics 100 listing of U.S. and Canadian for-hire carriers.
