Truckload carrier Landstar System said Thursday its fourth-quarter net income rose to $29 million, or 54 cents a share, from $28.7 million, or 50 cents, a year earlier.
Revenue for the quarter ended Dec. 29 rose 5.2% to $642.9 million, Landstar said in a statement.
The company’s carrier group of companies reported revenue of $454 million in the quarter, up from $440 million a year earlier.
For the full fiscal year, Landstar reported a profit of $109.7 million, or $1.99 per share, down from $113.1 million, or $1.93 per share, the previous year.
Revenue was $2.49 billion, compared with $2.51 billion a year earlier.
Landstar System is ranked No. 12 on the Transport Topics 100 listing of U.S. and Canadian for-hire carriers.
