Lion Electric Appoints First Chief Legal Officer

Truck maker Lion Electric announced it appointed François Duquette chief legal officer, a newly created role.
He was most recently managing director of global private equity at Caisse de dépôt et placement du Québec.
Duquette will oversee all aspects of legal and regulatory affairs, as well as provide strategic counsel to the senior management team and board of directors. He reports to Marc Bédard, Lion’s founder and CEO.

“With over 20 years of international business experience, François’ expertise will be important in providing ongoing strategic advice and legal counsel to our team, as we are about to start a new chapter of our history as a public company,” Bédard said in a release.
Montreal, Canada-based Lion intends to go public through a reverse merger with Northern Genesis Acquisition Corp., according to reports. A meeting to approve the pending business combination is scheduled to be held April 23. — Transport Topics
